Kenya Prayer Requests:
1. Pray that there will be revival among the Christians there. Many call themselves Christians but few (less than 12%) are active in their faith.
2. Pray that the Gospel will reach into the very poor rural areas and transform the lives of those most in need: farmers, unskilled laborers, households headed by women, and people with disabilities.
3. For John Omondi working in West Kenya: John is training, this week, 50 leaders who want to plant churches in their own
communities. He asks that the training be successful and that they will be able implement what they learn. As Brooks said about John: “He is a young dad whose passion for the lost has put such a burning in his heart that his feet are on fire to ‘go to’ and talk to and impact as many people as he possibly can with the gospel message of hope.” -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D.R. Congo Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for peace and to bind the demonic powers that has brought such havoc and suffering through tribalism warfare and extreme cruelty. Hutu genocidists continue to terrorize villages and regions.
2. Pray that the Gospel will reach into the many rural villages, where millions of people live, that have no Christian presence.
3. For Angel Alembe working in DR Congo: During the next two weeks, Angel will be training ten vulnerable women (widowed,
separated, or just poor) in Uvira and the surrounding villages. Angel asks for prayer that these women will advance their lives and use what they are receiving to reach and bless other women. Brooks note on Angel: “Among so many other things, she is literally going into communities and teaching not only God’s Word, but challenging women to reach higher, stand taller, and live an abundant life. “ We will be setting up funding (micro-lending) for these women. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Praise Story:
Last year, God worked through two blind women to start a church in a rural village. God has used them to invite many into their home to hear of the Gospel of Christ’s power and love. The church planters who work with them have also been providing books and tuition so that orphans from this village can attend school. God is definitely using the poor of this world to bring riches into a needy area!
